I am a lifelong resident of Logansport and Cass County. My wife and I, Kathy (Shrock) Rozzi, have been married for forty years, and we have three adult children: Jason (Michelle) Rozzi, Alisa Rozzi and Jacob Rozzi (fiancée Hailee Boehme). We also have nine additional grandchildren. My mother, Helen Rozzi, ninety-seven years old, lives in Logansport, as well. My father, August J. (Auggie) Rozzi, is deceased. I am the youngest of five children and have four sisters: Vicki Hassett Enzweiler, Jeanette Laird, Donna Stayer and Terri Smith.
After thirty-five years of committed service, I retired from the Logansport Police Department. Since retirement, I have continued employment and service at Ivy Tech Community College in Logansport as a part-time security officer. In addition to this role, I’ve also been a part-time security officer at Big R Stores and Cass/Pulaski Community Corrections, where I would check on individuals on house arrest.
During my thirty-five years as a Logansport Police Officer, I served in the following capacities:
● 4 years Chief of Police
● 4 years Asst. Chief of Police
● 4 years Lt. Patrol Division, 1st Shift
● 5 years Patrol Officer, 3rd Shift
● 5 years 1st Sgt Patrol Division, 3rd Shift
● 14 years Lt. Chief of Detectives, Investigation Division
In addition to this, for several years I was also the firearms instructor and the Pension Secretary. These duties provided various opportunities to learn, including numerous seminars and schools expanding my knowledge in areas such as robbery, homicide, and fraud. As a result, I have worked with numerous agencies, at the federal, state, and local level, including the FBI, DEA, Secret Service, and Indiana State Police.
In my career as the Chief of Police, as a supervisor, and as a business owner, I have always looked for the best person to do the job. I ask everyone to contemplate a vital question when votes are cast in November. Who is truly the best candidate for the Cass County Sheriff?
My top priorities as Sheriff will be to serve and protect the citizens of Cass County, as well as uphold the laws of the State of Indiana. I will manage the department with transparency, professionalism and integrity. As a working sheriff, I will work alongside the deputies, assisting in any manner needed.
I look forward to being your next Sheriff in Cass County, and I welcome any input that you might have regarding the direction of the department. As a proud public service provider of Logansport and Cass County, I hope to continue with that same honest and professional duty as the next Sheriff of Cass County with your help and support.
